Advice

Anyone wanting advice about their new or existing business in the South Cambridgeshire area, on all aspects of running a business from start-up to property tax, employment law and business rates, is able to talk to South Cambridgeshire District Council.

Default Retirement Age

The Government has removed the Default Retirement Age so that people can choose to work for longer. Many employers have heard about the change but need to know about what it means for their business and workers. The Department for Work and Pensions Communications are launching an online working longer toolkit for employers to give them the information they need in one place.

The online Toolkit has a pick and mix approach - so they can use as much or as little as they need, including:

  • Information about how the law has changed
  • Two minute toolkit
  • Factsheets
  • Case studies
  • Help and support

We know that many small business managers rely on their peers, other owner managers, local networks, trade bodies and trusted voices such as yours to get information and advice.

The Toolkit is now available at www.businesslink.gov.uk/workinglonger.

We're very keen to find out how useful the toolkit is so we can keep improving it.

If you have any comments, please send them to [email protected] at the Department for Work and Pensions Communications
