Founded in 1909; the Marshall Group operates on a national and international scale across its motor vehicle sales, aerospace engineering, specialist vehicle and military building interests. Headquartered on an 800 acre site in South Cambridgeshire, the company has an annual turnover approaching one billion pounds and employs over 4,000 people.

The largest company of the Marshall Group is Marshall Motor Holdings, one of the biggest privately owned motor dealer groups in Great Britain. The company now has 68 retail outlets across the United kingdom, including two large multi-franchised car centers in South Cambridgeshire, five accident repair centres and a wholesale parts distribution capability.

Marshal Aerospace operates from Cambridge Airport, a fully equipped regional airport with a full public license which serves a wide variety of business and charter flights and is wholly owned and operated by the group. This important piece of South Cambridgeshire infrastructure provides the gateway into Marshall Aerospace’s hangars from where the company specialises in design, modification and maintenance activity for major manufacturers including Airbus and Boeing.

Marshall’s engineering and manufacturing capability also extends to the design, development and production of a wide range of mobility equipment which includes mobile hospitals and a variety of military mobility shelters and vehicles, through its Marshall Land Systems company.

Marshall Group and South Cambridgeshire

In addition to driving its extensive business portfolio forward from South Cambridgeshire including local recruitment and skills training programmes, the company’s strong community links are reflected in a diverse programme of direct company support and volunteering by employees. These include helping and encouraging the young, the elderly and the infirm and sponsorship of a number of schools, two of which are in South Cambridgeshire. Marshalls has also actively supported a number of regional initiatives including anti-crime and safer village campaigns.

“South Cambridgeshire is in our DNA at Marshalls. I can’t imagine a better place to live and operate a leading global business”

Terry Holloway, Group Support Executive, The Marshall Group
