The Nokia Research Centre (NRC) Cambridge, UK laboratory is located on the campus of the University of Cambridge. Collaborating deeply with the university, NRC Cambridge UK develops nanotechnologies for mobile communication and ambient intelligence. Studying physical, chemical and biological phenomena and manipulation of matter at the nanoscale enables generation of knowledge for enhancing human capabilities.
Nokia Research Centre and South Cambridgeshire
Proximity to and association with the knowledge base of the University was the primary driver in establishing South Cambridgeshire as one of Nokia’s global network of research locations. Dig a little deeper however and it becomes clear that other factors come into play. The wider skill set of the silicon fen high tech community, the opportunities for collaboration and an environment conducive to high quality work and life were also fundamental.
